Feingold: Censure Bush!

Yesterday, liberal Democrat Sen. Russ Feingold called on the Senate to censure the President for a program that is successfully stopping terrorists.

Senator Russell D. Feingold said Sunday that he would introduce a measure in the Senate to censure President Bush over the domestic eavesdropping program.

“What the president did by consciously and intentionally violating the Constitution and laws of this country with this illegal wiretapping has to be answered,” Mr. Feingold, Democrat of Wisconsin, said on the ABC News program “This Week.” “Proper accountability is a censuring of the president, saying: ‘Mr. President, acknowledge that you broke the law, return to the law, return to our system of government.’ “

Mr. Feingold, who has said he will consider a run for the White House in 2008, said he planned to introduce his legislation on Monday. He said his censure proposal was not “a harsh approach, and it’s one that I think should lead to bipartisan support.”

But Senator Bill Frist, a Tennessee Republican and the majority leader, called the proposal “a crazy political move.” And Senator John W. Warner, a Virginia Republican and chairman
of the Armed Services Committee, said it was “the worst type of political grandstanding.”

After years of searching, Democrat leaders are finally beginning to find their agenda: take away the tools America needs to fight terror.

Feingold deserves credit for his candor. He, unlike all other democrats, is telling us what he believes. Democrat Underground posts his frustrations with his fellow Dem’s because they will not stand up with Feingold. But then again, Feingold would not even stay on the Senate floor long enough to debate with Sen. Spector.

Weakening our national security is their agenda.

Democrat leaders never miss an opportunity to put politics before our nation’s security. And now, they would rather censure the President for doing his job than actually fight the War on Terror. Now, it’s their agenda – from the top of the ticket on down.

Blogs for Bush has a copy of the email they sent in their extended entry and they are allowing anyone to use it as a form letter.
