Amnesty vs. "Earned Citizenship"

28 03 2006

Democrats are not learning from history. They are becoming insane.

Insane = Repeating the same action and expecting a different result.

They look at all the illegal immigrants and see votes. They believe that, with their Kennedy-McCain Bill, they can trade “earned citizenship” for votes.

They assume that a major portion of the 11 million illegal immigrants will vote Democrat, just like they assume that most blacks will continue to vote Democrat. Many blacks are starting to realize exactly what the liberals’ agenda is. That is to promote government programs to secure votes only to keep these voters on the programs so they will “always need the government.”

A Michelle Malkin reader gives us a reminder of who does hard work.

This morning on Good Morning America, John McCain defended the bill that bears his name, denying the accusation of amnesty and calling it instead, “earned citizenship.

“Amnesty is forgiveness,” McCain, R-Ariz., told Good Morning America. “This is payment of a fine. This is admission of guilt. … This is earned citizenship, that’s what it is.”

“There are 11 million people here illegally, many of them have been here for 40 or 50 years,” McCain said.

He acknowledged there were “sharp divisions” among the Republican Party regarding the legislation. The House also recently passed a much harsher bill that included criminal penalties for illegal migrants, verification of whether foreign employees were legally in the country, and building a fence along portions of the Mexican border.

So there are too many in the country to enforce our current laws. How, exactly, will we enforce new laws? Deport the one’s who refuse to learn English?

But then Democrats might lose votes…
