If A Democrat Were President…

…He’d be hailed a hero for analyzing phone call patterns to detect terrorist movement.

But, thank God, Bush is a conservative. And so, USA Today has most humbly taken it upon itself to expose Bush and the NSA for doing their jobs. Imagine that!

The National Security Agency has been secretly collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans, using data provided by AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth.

The NSA program reaches into homes and businesses across the nation by amassing information about the calls of ordinary Americans — most of whom aren’t suspected of any crime. This program does not involve the NSA listening to or recording conversations. But the spy agency is using the data to analyze calling patterns in an effort to detect terrorist activity, sources said in separate interviews.

In layman terms, they are doing their jobs. They are doing what they can with the resources they have – and breaking NO laws!

These are records that phone companies record and keep anyway and are used in court cases quite often. Anyone who has watched a TV show such as CSI or Law & Order would recognize what we are talking about pertaining to these records.

As many of us felt before about the wire tapping, even that broke no laws. It was the MSM that reported lies in telling Americans they were being listened to and their rights were being infringed upon. This was an INTERNATIONAL wire tapping. Nothing more.

This is the next step the NSA is taking to protect America, and Qwest and USA Today have now directly endangered the lives of 14 million Qwest subscribers along with the rest of the country as well.

But if a Democrat were President, he’d be hailed a hero for his espionage and sleuthness.

AJ Strata loses respect for Qwest:

Qwest’s refusal to participate has left the NSA with a hole in its database. Based in Denver, Qwest provides local phone service to 14 million customers in 14 states in the West and Northwest.

USA Today just tipped off the terrorist how to avoid detection and put the people in Qwest’s areas in danger because now it is known those areas have the least protection and should be targeted!

Stop the ACLU isn’t too fond of USA Today:

USA Today has taken upon itself to “declassify” more classified information about programs aimed at protecting us. Obviously they decided that there wasn’t already enough damage done to national security.

Allah Pundit weighs in over at Hot Air.
Michelle Malkin will probably do business with Verizon for their efforts.
