Start Winning, then Pull Out???

Took a couple days off for my birthday this week and came back in time to catch this little gem from the NYT on Monday about how news coverage has “shifted” from the Iraq War to the election.

News coverage of the Iraq war fell sharply in the second quarter of the year, as the news media paid increased attention to the presidential campaign and the immigration debate, according to a detailed analysis to be released today.

As in the first quarter, CNN and MSNBC each devoted about twice as much time to the war as their cable competitor Fox News Channel, according to the report by the Project for Excellence in Journalism, a research group.

Seems innocent enough to the untrained eye. But a keen reader will see right through this obvious liberal stunt by the overwhelmingly biased media.

What is obvious here is that the surge is working. And with success in Iraq, that leaves little room to spin report the news about Iraq. This circumvention to the election is for no reason other than extensive ascendancy in Iraq.

Even Hillary, in remarks yesterday about the surge, stumbled over herself:

HILLARY: We’ve began to change tactics in Iraq and in some areas, specifically the Al Anbar province it is working. We’re just years too late in changing our tactics.

Ian has the video.
