Huckabee Endorsing Jesus or Jesus Endorsing Huckabee

How bloggers can derive, “Jesus is now endorsing Huckabee,” from this is pretty unreasonable. Furthermore, I think it’s evidence of partisanship within the party because Huck is surging and he is obviously not their choice.

For example, Jim Geraghty:

Wow. Huckabee’s been endorsed by both Chuck Norris AND Jesus Christ.

Dang. Here I was looking at poll numbers, advertising, and endorsements, when I should have been detailing and quantifying the “not human” factor in the race.

Dan Riehl:

I just find it insulting, though I appreciate Huckabee’s context, it is not the context of the majority of Americans he needs to appeal to. Maybe he should try out for the NFL, or go back to televangelism, both venues where this stuff plays much better.

He answered a question, folks. That deserves a bit more than a glance towards context. Context is all there is here.

Hot Air:

Yeah, listen, nothing personal. I’m sure he’s a good guy and has only the best intentions. But this is where I get off.

Jay Stephenson is right, though he may doubt himself:

I think he was attempting to thank God for his guidance. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt on this and just stick to critiquing him on the issues.

Of course he was giving credit to God for his inexplicable surge. That’s why he compared it to Jesus’ feeding of five thousand. Both are miracles, in this case, Huckabee can’t credit solely for his surprising success.

Folks, let’s understand something, religion to Huckabee and Romney, as we saw in his home run speech today, is more than just words. Rudy and Fred indicate they are guided by faith, but don’t attend church regularly. There’s a disconnect there. Fred is more conservative than Rudy, but Christians can see right through the lukewarm faith of those two. Christians start with a candidate that is open and honest about their faith and believe it is at the core of who they are. Not just another thing on a political checklist to net more voters.

Now, I like Huckabee and have for several months now. But I and other socially conservative bloggers aren’t out there stooping to the liberals’ game of opponent attacks. Don’t like the guy? Fine, talk about how your guy is better. That’s what we’ve been doing. Did it when we were behind and we’re doing it now.

But let’s not talk about “getting off” anyone in the primaries. You might just have to get on when we get to the national election. And I know many of you conservative bloggers that don’t like Huck will vote for him then long before I’ll vote for Rudy (which is never).

Video: Offend Many or Offend the Loudest

Offend many or offend the loudest group that get offended to make a political statement. That is Sears’ choice. They chose poorly.

K-Mart and Sears have intentionally renamed “Christmas trees” to “holiday trees” or simply “trees” in its advertising. K-Mart is owned by Sears Holding Corporation.

A Liberty Counsel supporter asked K-Mart for an explanation of the company’s disregard for Christmas. Vincent V., a representative from Sears Holding Corporation, responded:

“The reason for our use of holiday tree is due to the Sears Holding is a very diverse company, we do not want to offend any of our associates, but also our valued customers. We decided to call them holiday trees because even if Christians are the only religion that uses a Christmas tree we still do not want complaints from other customers of different religions complaining about our use of Christmas.”

What? Christmas is a federal holiday. Green, pointed, prickly trees we decorate in December are called “Christmas trees” all around the world. In the process of trying to be “diverse” and to allegedly not offend their associates or customers, Sears and K-Mart have offended their largest customer base – Christians and others who celebrate Christmas. Even the minority who do not celebrate Christmas are not offended by its celebration by others. However, Sears and K-Mart have offended their customers. Those stores are not the only choices consumers have this Christmas. In 2005, Sears received so much pressure from consumers in the midst of the Christmas shopping season that it reprinted its ads to include Christmas and rushed “Merry Christmas” signs to all of its retail outlets. Apparently, the disease of political correctness has once again infected Sears and K-Mart.

Mathew D. Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: “It borders on the absurd to remove the word ‘Christmas’ from a ‘Christmas tree.’ Sears and K-Mart have offended their customer base by thinking they can profit from Christmas while pretending it does not exist. The best thing for consumers to do this Christmas season is to act as if Sears and K-Mart do not exist and instead patronize their competitors.”

The Sears Holding Corporation telephone number is 847-286-2500. President and CEO Aylwin Lewis should know that his “holiday trees” are offensive to shoppers who celebrate Christmas.

Some make the argument it’s over-commercialization for Christians to resist the saying, “Happy Holidays,” instead of “Merry Christmas.” If this isn’t proof of the agenda of the Left, naming them, ‘holiday trees,’ instead of the world renown name, ‘Christmas trees,’ nothing will do, and they will remain blinded by the slow and steady trickle of efforts to quietly remove God from America.

Perhaps a visual example with a humor twist might be of some help, but I won’t hold my breath:

Merry Tossmas.
