Do What We Say, Not What We Do

That’s the new mantra of the homosexual activists, the NEA, the APA, and eleven other hypocritical, liberal agenda-advancing groups who partnered together to produce a 24-page booklet, Just the Facts about Sexual Orientation and Youth, that propagates homosexuality is a “normal expression of human sexuality.” It was sent to all 16,000 public schools. The APA news release is absolutely laughable.

A diverse coalition of 13 national organizations has joined in a renewed effort to protect the safety and emotional well-being of students, including those who are at higher risk because of their sexual orientation. The group of education, health, mental health and religious organizations today released “Just the Facts About Sexual Orientation and Youth: A Primer for Principals, Educators, and School Personnel.”

“…protect the safety and emotional well-being…”

Since homosexuality is a choice, the schools cannot help the students choose normalcy, or God’s design, by merely protecting them from harm. In fact, by encouraging homosexual behavior, they are contributing to the emotional harm they are trying to decrease.

“…including those who are at higher risk because of their sexual orientation.”

The question from homosexual advocates is always, “if homosexuality is a choice, why would one choose it if it causes all the emotional distress?” The answer is simple: The person made a poor moral choice. It’s the same reason we see school shootings. Or teen drug habits. Choosing homosexuality is just one way of reacting to emotional tension and in nearly every case, a defective relationship with one or both parents.

It is intended to help school administrators foster safe and healthy school environments, in which all students can achieve to the best of their ability. “Just the Facts” includes the most recent information from professional health organizations, as well as up-to-date information on the legal responsibility of school officials to protect students from anti-gay harassment. “Just the Facts” has been mailed to all 16,000 public school superintendents in the United States.

“…foster safe and healthy school environments…”

Since there no mention in the booklet about the moral wrong of homosexuality and that homosexuality is a choice, schools promoting this pamphlet are bringing any harm in their schools upon themselves. This booklet is not the answer to their problems. The bible is. But that was taken out a long time ago.

The coalition issued the following joint statement:

“The opportunity for students to learn is diminished when they do not feel safe or supported at school…”

“…when they do not feel safe or supported…”

There are times in many kid’s lives that he is picked on or beat up for religious reasons, including yours truly. Why don’t we see these “professional” organizations protecting them from this harm?

So what happened to “tolerance” and “acceptance?” Why can’t religious groups be included in the list of help programs? They were flushed with any remaining common sense left in these “professional” organizations that now pander to the left so much, they’ve lost touch with any moral sense of right and wrong.

“What’s so scary and dogmatic about this report is that it communicates that religious-based viewpoints are harmful, and even dangerous,” said Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family Action.

Alan Chambers, president of Exodus International:

“Allowing people to choose what is best for their lives is respectful, it’s tolerant, it’s everything that the other side uses as their mantra, but really fails to respect and live up to,” he said.

The booklet ends with this warning: “Schools should be careful to avoid discussions of transformational ministry in their curriculum.” Hypocrisy abounds on the left.

Right…we wouldn’t want to “offend” anyone. Well guess what, the majority of Americans are already offended because you have omitted any morally-based programs from your left-leaning, biased pamphlet.

What is the problem with a teacher presenting all of the programs available without endorsing any single one? These 13 groups should at least be honest about their agenda. The APA has gone from listing homosexuality as a mental disorder to being one of its greatest advocates. They don’t want religion, or more specifically morality, coming into play because they have made this moral issue a political one. Mixing morality with secular politics only clouds the water and slows down the march of the left to infect the entire nation with the disease of liberalism.

UPDATE – 2/26: Ed Brayton attempts to cut me down.

This kind of stupidity really should be painful. How ridiculous is the notion that one just flippantly chooses to be gay – or that one just flippantly chooses to shoot up a school. This clueless dolt actually thinks that a teenager just waked up one day and thinks, “I think I’ll decide to be attracted to my same gender.

Ed, I didn’t think this was really that complicated, but I guess I’ll explain. One doesn’t “just flippantly” choose to shoot up a school. It’s a response to emotional abuse by parents and/or peers. I’ll repeat the central point from my paragraph, which I noted, that you failed to quote. Ready for it…Choosing homosexuality is just one way of reacting to emotional tension.

But even if that weren’t the case, his answer would still make no sense because it’s a tautology: “Why do people choose to do X? Because they choose to do X.” When I hit puberty, I was attracted sexually to girls. There was no choice involved.

That’s right. That’s the way God designed it. But just like He designed it that we not respond to emotional stress by shooting people, He also designed us to not choose to be attracted to the same sex as a result of emotional build-up.
