His leadership is unparalleled. His bravery will be the topic of stories for generations. Where has this man been hiding for the last 7 years? Former President Jimmy Carter the lionhearted valiantly traveled to Syria last weekend to meet with leaders of a known Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas. Carter was unflinching in the face of evil. Dauntless in the presence of terrorists. And, not only did he elude certain death, he brings news that Palestine is suddenly now prepared to recognize Israel as its neighbor.

Former President Jimmy Carter said Monday that Hamas — the Islamic militant group that has called for the destruction of Israel — is prepared to accept the right of the Jewish state to “live as a neighbor next door in peace.”

Carter relayed the message in a speech in Jerusalem after meeting last week with top Hamas leaders in Syria. It capped a nine-day visit to the Mideast aimed at breaking the deadlock between Israel and Hamas militants who rule the Gaza Strip.

But Brig. Gen. Jim Hutchens (USA-Ret.), Washington-area director of Christians United for Israel and president of The Jerusalem Connection, International, says Carter’s claim runs counter to everything the terror group has said publicly and states in its charter documents.

“I would look with great skepticism on this. I think that it’s not something that we should attempt to make any kind of foreign policy changes on.” And as well, it is something that that former president has done “in his own sense of good will,” Hutchens adds. “But he is alarmingly naïve, it seems to me.”

Hutchens says Carter’s Mid-East peace push is motivated by a “messiah complex” and the fact that he is “awash in Arab money.” According to Hutchens, Carter’s entire existence, his museum, and his papers are “supported enormously by Arab money.”

Shut down all the Hamas schools. Do away with all the bombs. Re-educate all the Palestinian children. Jimmy Carter has spoken and peace will now reign in the Middle East. Where was Jimbo before 9/11? Or it’s too bad he wasn’t around in the early 1940’s to avert World War II. I’m sure Hitler would have changed his mind if he had met Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter’s fantasy land is not real. In the real world this weekend Hamas launched suicide bombers from Gaza into Israel, detonating three bombs that wounded 13 Israeli soldiers. During the attack, Hamas terrorists also fired mortars on a family farm nearby. The Hamas goal is to gain control of border areas in order to facilitate the importation of more weapons from Iran.

Hamas and the Palestinian nations is sore from laughter at Jimmy Carter’s naivety and they only hope more people worldwide join him in his delusional thinking.

UPDATED – 9:00 pm: Hamas leader says, NOT!

Just hours after former President Jimmy Carter trumpeted Hamas’ agreement to let Israel “live as a neighbor,” the same terrorist leader he met with face-to-face vowed not to recognize the Jewish state.

Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal says his militant Islamic group will not recognize Israel but will accept a Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders.

Mashaal says the future Palestinian state must have Jerusalem as its “genuine, sovereign” capital. He did not say whether he meant the eastern, Arab section, or the entire city. He spoke at a news conference Monday in Damascus.

How can America thank you, Jimmy? I say revoke his citizenship and ship him to Cuba or Venezuela. He’ll get along just fine there. On the other hand, he might do more harm there. Just quarantine him in Plains, Georgia.
